Anderton Boat Lift There are boat trips which must be booked in advance.

Avro Heritage Museum, Woodford  is open 20 September – booking not required.

Crewe Hall is open – 14th and 15th September – pre booking not required but probably  the expectation to purchase refreshments.  It is very interesting – coats of arms of Cheshire families and the chapel.  We had a very nice afternoon tea there for SHS members many years ago.

Lion Salt Works 20 September 11am – 4pm no booking

Macclesfield Library – An exhibition  “TextileTown ” no booking, also trace your textile ancestors at the library on 20 September.

National Trust properties are open on the 12 September Hare Hill, Lyme, Little Moreton Hall, Biddulph Grange.

Ness gardens are open on the 16th – booking is required.  

Poynton the Anson Engine Museum is open on the 19th.

St Chads Church Over  Swanlow Lane Winsford is open with bell ringing demos on 19 September – no need to book

St Helen’s Church Witton Northwich is open on the 12th September – self guided tours.  It has a superb ceiling

The National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port is open on 12 September – booking not required

Weaver Hall is open on 19 th – no booking 

Wilmslow – History society are doing guided walks.
