News about Cheshire Archives and Local Studies. The Record Office is currently closed to researchers whilst they prepare our collections for the move to the new sites in Chester and Crewe. Access will begin again once the new centres open in early 2026. For further details please see their website

British Association for Local History (BALH). Sandbach History Society is a member of BALH and this means that members can obtain a discount on webinars as well as access the free 10-minute talks provided by various Local History Societies around the country. Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum. Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum reopened in April. Last year was the 250th anniversary of the birth of one of the founders of Primitive Methodism, Hugh Bourne. If you have not visited the museum it is just ‘down the road’ with plenty of parking and a tea room!
