
This year is the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway on 27 September 1825. There are various local and naitional events. See the Railway 200 website.
Locally there is an exhibition at Weaver Hall Museum in Northwich beginning on Saturday 13 September and it runs until 4 January 2026. It is organised by Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership and Trevor Booth, a local railway historian. The museum as its own car park and there is a cafe serving light refreshments. Admission charge is £4.20 for adults, £3 for concessions , children free. The museum is open Tuesday to Friday 10 am till 5pm , Saturdays and Sundays 2pm – 5pm
